Good News (At last!)

This article is the cherry on an entirely gorgeous Friday.

"Connecticut Ruling Overturns Ban on Same-Sex Marriage"
-- Awesomeness.

NY really needs to step up their game.... I appreciate that NY governor Paterson is directing state agencies to recognize same sex marriages from other states, but that's really only the tip of the iceberg.

Anyways, there is one part of this article (from the NY Times) that got me really heated:

“It’s an outrage, but it’s not unexpected,” said Peter Wolfgang, the executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut. “We thought all along that the court would usurp the democratic process and force same-sex marriage on Connecticut.”

How can legalizing something that directly affects only a small minority of the population be considering FORCING it upon an entire state?

Yay! Little by little, right? I feel pretty proud of my California, but we have a prop coming up that could overturn the right to marriage--eek.
